Behind the Brand
Hi, I’m Amanda!
I'm the hands and heart behind Hinocho Designs, a creative journey that began with a love for photography and scrapbooking. Years of paper crafting led me to cutting machines, where I started making custom gifts for friends and family. Then one simple request from my husband—“Can you make a shadowbox?”—sparked something bigger. I fell in love with designing layered, dimensional art that tells a story. While I still create other custom pieces, 3D shadowboxes are my true passion. And since my own walls can only hold so many, I started Hinocho Designs to share this joy with others—one meaningful piece at a time.
“Hinocho” is the Japanese word for “Fire Butterfly”—a name that blends my love for butterflies with my husband’s admiration for the phoenix. It represents both of us: my passion for creating and his vision and encouragement. He’s not just my biggest fan—he’s the one who suggested the shadowbox that started it all. As my business partner and sounding board, his ideas and support helped turn a creative spark into something much more. The name Hinocho is a symbol of that partnership—where art meets purpose, and creativity meets fire.
